Statistical Analysis of Corrosion Current Density and Tensile Strength of Al-6061 Alloy by Ageing and Retrogression Heat Treatments

In this work, the effect of ageing and retrogression on polarization resistance Al 6061 was assessed, in order to improve corrosion alloy with a negligible tensile strength. The behavior studied by exposing an simulated marine environment, then, current density (icorr) measured. obtained results were correlated strength (TS) reported elsewhere both measured, icorr TS modeled multiple linear regression. showed that is inversely proportional temperature increment processes. addition, samples subjected 200 °C 250 temperatures exhibited enhancement strength, when compared T6 condition lower temperatures. Furthermore, empirical equation proposed correlate as function heat treatment parameters such as: time–temperature for aluminium alloy.
